Latte Vino

Latte Vino® is an all natural wine reduction syrup. 

 

It is the creation of Dolores Lowery, owner of Prickly Pears Gourmet Gallery in Mexico Beach, Florida .  ‘Prickly Pears’ is a Gourmet Shop with a full line gourmet foods, fine wine and an espresso bar.  The inspiration for Latte Vino came from trying to create espresso drinks with wine.  Of course wine in the “raw” did not work, so a wine syrup came to mind and Latte Vino was the result.  This unique syrup does not cover up the flavor of fine espresso but enhances it.  The “Latte Vino” latte has become the best seller at Prickly Pears.  It also makes an exceptional Chai Latte.  We call it our “Chai Vino.” At Prickly Pears we brew organic Chai in the espresso machine one drink at a time just like we do our espresso.  We then sweeten the Chai with Latte Vino and add steamed milk.  It is the best Chai you will ever find and it’s all natural.

When the wine is heated the alcohol as well as the sulfites are cooked out so there are no restrictions on serving Latte Vino.   

TASTING NOTES:  Latte Vino is a dark amber syrup with a pleasing wine nose, the flavor is fruit forward; bright currant and fig preserves melt into molasses and caramel with hints of honey and long maple vanilla finish.

Latte: 1/2 to 3/4 oz. Latte Vino Syrup to 16 oz. latte
Tea: Use as a sweetener for hot or iced tea
Desserts: Latte Vino is an excellent topping for bread pudding, cheesecake, ice cream, crepes, and pancakes

Ingredients:  Red wine, evaporated cane juice.
